You’ll have a choice of two powertrains on this electric SUV. The long-range battery version produces 204PS, offers a range of 292 miles and a 0-62 mph time of only 7.6 seconds. The standard version produces 135PS and will give you a range of 186 miles. Both have the advantage of producing instant torque from standstill of 395Nm and a top speed of 103mph. The battery can be recharged to 80% of its capacity in under an hour with the 100kW fast charger, although you’ll also be able to charge the battery using the on-board charger or a standard household power socket.
Coming equipped with the latest suite of Hyundai SmartSense means the 2018 KONA Electric is packed with safety and assistance systems. Technology abounds with features such as the Display audio system with Apple CarPlay and Android capability, wireless inductive charging, an electronic parking brake, a Krell high end sound system, and a 7” supervision cluster with head-up display, all available depending on the model and options you choose.
