The Motability scheme is a registered charity which enables disabled people to exchange their Government-funded mobility allowance for the lease of a new car.

Volvo Cars London are delighted to support the Motability Scheme, and subject to an advance payment, we can supply you with a brand new Volvo that suits your needs. What’s more you don’t even need to drive. Family, friends or carers can drive on your behalf.

Our Volvo dealerships are some of the most experienced Volvo Motability dealers in the UK, with our own dedicated Motability specialists, and our experience has given us a unique insight into the problems that disabled customers face in obtaining practical advice when selecting new vehicles. Our team are able to help with everything from selection of an appropriate vehicle taking into account space requirements for specialist equipment, all the relevant form filing and any special vehicle delivery requirements. It’s all part of the unhurried, friendly service we’re proud to offer.

How does it work?

The scheme works very simply. If you receive any of the following:

  • The Higher Rate Mobility Component (HRMC) of the Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
  • The Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
  • The War Pensioners’ Mobility Allowance (WMPS)
  • The Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP)

You may be eligible to exchange an element of it for a brand new Volvo. You don't have to worry about credit checks, financial assessments or lengthy waiting lists. Just choose your car, and we'll do the rest.

What’s more, insurance for up to two drivers, servicing, road tax and a mileage allowance of up to 60,000 miles during the three year term mean is all included in the scheme, so all you need to do is pay for the fuel you use!

Save your bank details to receive any payments or refunds such as the Good Condition Bonus, or End of Contract Bonus for scooter or powered wheelchair customers, by bank transfer rather than cheque

Easily check and update personal information such as your address and contact details, saving you time and providing peace of mind that everything is up to date

Find your managing dealer’s contact details – useful if you need to get in touch with them to arrange any servicing, maintenance or repairs

View key lease dates and important Scheme documents to help you stay organised throughout your lease

For car and wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV) customers:

View, add or change named drivers during your lease and easily see the details of your insurance cover, saving you a call to RSA Motability

If you are an existing customer car or WAV customer without an appointee, start your next application from home by updating your personal details and allowance information before you visit a dealership – allowing the dealer to dedicate more time to helping you choose your next car. You can also add the details for two named drivers if they hold an England, Wales or Scotland driving licence.

If you’ve recently placed an order for a car or WAV, check the progress of your application and access the PIN, ready for delivery day
