The Volvo XC40 swept to victory in the 2018 Car of the Year Awards, thanks to the jury’s recognition of its superior quality, looks, ruggedness and safety. The Volvo XC40 European Car of the Year 2018 Award means that all current Volvo SUVs have now earned a Car of the Year title in either Europe or North America. The jury for the Car of the Year 2018 comprised 60 members from 23 European countries, representing the most senior and most influential motoring journalists across Europe. The Volvo XC40 win was announced at the start of the prestigious Geneva Motor Show.

The Volvo XC40 brings a number of ‘firsts’ to Volvo’s line-up:

• Care by Volvo lets you pay for your XC40 through a monthly subscription, rather than buying it
• Car-sharing through Volvo on Call lets you share your XC40 with another family member or a friend without having to give them a physical key
• The XC40 is the first Volvo to be based on its compact modular vehicle architecture

Packed with Volvo’s safety and driver assistance technologies, the Volvo XC40 offers the semi-autonomous Pilot Assist system and City Safety for autonomous emergency braking, as well as Run-off Road Protection and Mitigation, and Cross Traffic Alert with brake support. There’s also a 360° camera to help you get into those difficult parking spaces. A hybrid and an all-electric version of the award-winning Volvo XC40 will be available soon.
