Volvo has really been clocking up the awards recently with wins at the 2017 Tow Car Awards and the Auto Trader New Car Awards. Volvo XC90 awards were for Best Hybrid tow car and for Green Car of the Year, whilst the Volvo V40 was shortlisted for the New Car of the Year Award, and Volvo overall won the Car Brand with Best Features. The Volvo XC90 hybrid is a worthy winner of the Green Car of the Year title at the very first Auto Trader New Car Awards. Just consider its CO2 emissions as low as 49g/km, its ability to go a full 27 miles just on its battery, its 2.5-hour recharge time and, for business users, it offers a BIK rating of only 9%. These Auto Trader Awards are mainly decided by votes from new car owners, people like you who have genuine experience of real-world use of these cars every day. In winning the “Car Brand with Best Features” Award, it also proves conclusively that the features and technology that Volvo has developed really are what people want, particularly in the areas of navigation, connectivity and air conditioning.
It was the Volvo XC90 T8 Twin Engine Momentum that carried off the Best Hybrid Award at the Tow Car Awards, thanks to its spaciousness, performance, practicality and, of course, its superb towing credentials. As David Motton, Tow Car Editor, Practical Caravan magazine, said: “…the XC90 T8 is up with the best we’ve tested. It is quick and roomy, with tremendous performance and is very practical – it deservedly wins our first ‘Best Hybrid’ award.”
The Volvo V40 has been available since 2012, so it was especially a triumph to be shortlisted into the top three for the Auto Trader New Car of the Year Award.
