The i30 N has been developed to make your heart beat faster. Two models are available: the Hyundai i30 N and the Hyundai i30 N Performance. The engine sound from the Performance model embodies the N’s high-performance potential. The power delivered from its overboost function enhances the feeling of acceleration, whilst the 2.0 turbocharged inline 4 engine can give a torque boost of 25Nm. With a 0-62mph time of just 6.1 seconds for the Performance model and 6.4 seconds for the standard i30 N, these Hyundai hot hatches know a thing or two about raw performance. The chassis summons maximum traction, control and precision for an unrivalled feeling through corners. The result is a Hyundai that places the emphasis on sharp performance and driving excitement. An everyday sports car
The i30 N is as suitable for commuting in comfort on weekdays as it is ready for the racetrack at the weekend. That’s thanks to the five drive modes – Eco, Normal, Sport, N and N Custom – selected by using two dedicated buttons on the steering wheel. Adjusting settings for the engine, suspension, steering and transmission, the car’s character can be changed to suit the driving environment and your tastes.
Designed for performance
The N features design that is focused on pure performance. Assertive front and rear bumpers with fresh air inlets at the front, a new rear spoiler and a powerful stance reflect the extreme character of this Hyundai hot hatch. Form truly does follow function, with the bodywork providing the perfect blend of attributes, so that the N is at once aerodynamic through the air and stable at high speeds, helped by the front splitter and rear wing spoiler producing excellent aerodynamic balance. This provides the best possible driving experience and exceptional racetrack capabilities.
The Hyundai N’s interior has been designed to enhance the connection between driver and car in all areas. A specially designed steering wheel and ball-type gear knob improve driver feel, while exclusively developed N sport seats offer maximum support in all driving situations. An electronic instrument panel with a with a 4.2” LCD is specifically made for passionate drivers and features soft blue lighting. It incorporates a shift-timing indicator positioned at the top of the cluster, along with a variable LED tachometer. Other standard features include smart adaptive speed control and keyless entry with an engine start/stop button.
Namyang and Nürburgring
The i30 N was born in Namyang, Hyundai Motor’s worldwide R&D Centre in Korea, and honed at the Nürburgring, the world-famous 12.9-mile race circuit in Germany where Hyundai Motor’s European test centre is based. N stands for those two locations and symbolises a chicane, the essence of Hyundai’s high-performance car development. Strongly inspired by motorsport, the N has been developed using the experience and knowledge gained from competing in the FIA World Rally Championship. The i30 N is a product of all this and more, and it represents the pinnacle of Hyundai’s driving passion.
Performance with safety
The i30 N comes with a range of safety systems that ensure the chances of accidents are minimised and occupants are protected at all times. With Autonomous Emergency Braking, the i30 alerts the driver of an imminent collision, applying emergency braking to avoid an impact when necessary. Other systems come on line to assist you in specific driving situations, making for more relaxed and less stressful journeys.
The colour of performance
You can choose from five Hyundai colours for your i30 N: Engine Red, Clean Slate, Polar White, Micron Grey or Phantom Black. In addition, there’ s brand new colour, Performance Blue, specifically formulated for the N, thanks to inspiration from the Hyundai Motorsports WRC and TCR programmes. Overall, the exterior look is enhanced by the black bezel headlamps and horizontal LED daylight running lights.
But that’s not all, because now there’s the all-new Hyundai i30 Fastback N. The first-ever, C-segment, five-door, hot coupé, the i30 Fastback N is available in the Performance version, bringing you 275PS of power, 353Nm of torque, a top speed of 155mph and an impressive 0-62mph dash in only 6.1 seconds. What’s more, when you hit top torque, the overboost function can deliver an extra 25Nm of torque for you to play with. And you can choose how much you want to play and how much you want to relax with the N Grin Control, offering you Eco, Normal, Sport, N and N Custom driving modes, all controlled from the steering wheel.
Combining so much performance with SmartSense active safety and driving assistance systems, smart connectivity features and a dynamic exterior, the all-new Hyundai i30 Fastback N is maximum fun to drive, as well as offering the spirit, comfort and elegance of gran turismo motoring.
