Job Description: Finance Analyst / Financial Reporting Analyst
Salary – £40-45k
Location: 100 Centennial Park, Centennial Avenue, Elstree, WD6 3SA
Role Overview
The Finance Analyst will play a key role in supporting the organisation’s financial planning, reporting, and analytical activities. This role combines daily operational finance responsibilities with strategic analysis, providing insights that support decision-making across the business. The successful candidate will work closely with divisional heads, operational teams, and senior leadership to ensure accurate reporting, compliance, and efficient financial management.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Prepare funding recommendations and assess funding availability to support business initiatives.
- Translate business strategy into financial plans, forecasts, and performance metrics. Lead financial modelling to support strategic initiatives, investments, M&A, and business cases.
- Conduct regular cashflow analysis to ensure effective liquidity management.
- Support working capital deployment initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
- Deliver cost‑saving analysis to identify opportunities for financial optimisation.
Reporting & Data Insights
- Produce daily reporting, including analyses of bank transactions and balance updates.
- Prepare Vehicle Stock Reports and other divisional performance summaries.
- Assist in the preparation of Board Reports with accurate financial commentary.
- Compile Divisional KPI reporting and manage performance dashboards.
- Conduct benchmarking, gap analysis, and composite analysis to highlight performance trends.
- Drive initiatives to improve margins, cash flow, and return on investment.
- Provide analytical support for ad hoc projects as required.
Compliance & Statutory Requirements
- Support audit, regulatory, and stakeholder requirements as needed.
- Strengthen financial controls, data integrity, and analytical standards.
- Manage key compliance deadlines, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
- Assist with VAT return preparation and reconciliation.
- Contribute to audit engagement by preparing schedules, responding to queries, and ensuring audit readiness.
Operational & Cross‑Functional Support
- Provide financial insight and analysis to operational teams and senior management.
- Support the accounts production process where required.
- Perform supplier analysis to enhance procurement decision‑making.
Skills & Experience
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data and present clear insights.
- Excellent attention to detail and high standards of accuracy.
- Strong proficiency with Excel and financial reporting systems.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Ability to communicate financial information effectively to both finance and non‑finance stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- AAT / ACCA / ACA/ CIMA part‑qualified or qualified (or relevant experience).
- Experience in financial analysis, management accounts, or business partnering roles.
- Industry experience desirable but not essential.
