You can either charge your car at home or on the go. The Motability scheme will support you with one of these, depending on your circumstances and lifestyle. Charing at home, This is having a charge point installed at your home**. You’ll need to have off-street parking, like a driveway or garage

**We can only arrange a charge point installation at your home for your first fully electric car on the Motability Scheme.

Motability will arrange insurance cover for your Motability Scheme vehicle together with Direct Line Motability (DLM). You can add up to three drivers and can change these at any time.

The Motability Scheme offer the following benefits

There is no age limit on the Motability Scheme and you can also benefit from adding additional drivers to the policy. This enables them to drive the vehicle on your behalf. As well as the addition of two extra drivers, the Motability Scheme also comes with a number of added extras such as:

  • Insurance from Direct Line Motability
  • Servicing and maintenance
  • Full RAC breakdown assistance
  • Annual car tax
  • Replacement tyres
  • Windscreen repair/replacement
  • 60,000 mileage allowance over the course of the lease
  • Selected adaptations at no additional cost


Our Motability experts will also be able to help check your eligibility for the scheme, with the need to have at least 12 months’ award remaining on one of the following essential to qualification:

● Higher Rate Mobility Component (HRMC) of the Disability Living Allowance (DLA)

● Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP)

● War Pensioners’ Mobility Allowance (WMPS)

● Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP)
