Confirming its leading position in the clean motoring marketplace, Hyundai has won three prestigious awards at the recent Next Green Car Awards. Family Car of the Year went to the Hyundai KONA Electric, which went on to take the overall Next Green Car of the Year award. Hyundai also won the Manufacturer of the Year title. This success proves just how much Hyundai’s investment in greener technology is paying off and affirms its position as a class-leading, electric-car brand. A worthy winner of many awards, the Hyundai KONA Electric excels with its 279-mile range mixed with its everyday practicality and remarkable value for money. The judges were particularly impressed by these aspects of the KONA Electric, commenting: “With its 279-mile range, the Hyundai KONA Electric represents outstanding value for money when compared with rival offerings. As the first to bring a long-distance EV to mass-market customers – and with such a capable package – Hyundai’s KONA Electric is NGC's Car of the Year 2018."

With the Hyundai IONIQ available in three configurations: hybrid, plug-in hybrid and all-electric, as well as having the KONA Electric to its name, it’s obvious that Hyundai has dedicated itself to creating a revolution in making greener cars available to motorists worldwide. It was this commitment that enabled Hyundai to win the Next Green Car Manufacturer of the Year title. Tony Whitehorn, Hyundai Motor UK President and CEO, commented: “Our electric offerings, including KONA and IONIQ, represent extremely good value for money, are packed full of the latest technology and come as standard with the peace-of-mind that’s afforded by Hyundai’s five-year unlimited mileage and eight-year or 125,000-mile high voltage battery warranty. The future of both our fuel cell and other electrified powertrains is taking shape as we speak, but I guarantee you there’s much more to come.”
