As if having such a comfortable cabin, such a large cargo capacity and such a stylish and practical SUV body style weren’t enough, the Hyundai KONA Electric has been proven to be the best by What Car? The Hyundai KONA Electric real-range tests conducted by What Car? showed the Hyundai KONA EV as being able to travel 259 miles on a single charge, more than any other car tested under these tough, real-world conditions.
The Hyundai KONA Electric is a genuine all-electric car, powered by a 64kWh battery pack. Not only did it beat 13 other zero-emissions cars in these real-range tests, but the KONA EV’s 259-mile journey cost only 3.3 pence per mile – that means you could drive from London to Snowdonia for a mere £8.55 – compare that with what you might pay for petrol!
Also tested was Hyundai’s IONIQ Electric with a real range of 117 miles and a stunning cost per mile of just three pence, the lowest of any brand. The tests were conducted by What Car? at the Millbrook Proving Ground under a mix of road conditions.
Tony Whitehorn, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor UK, was delighted with the success of these two cars in reducing the environmental effects of driving: “These cars are a compelling proposition for both fleet and retail customers, and we’re confident that KONA Electric and IONIQ Electric will continue to attract praise from media and motorists alike.”
