Hyundai’s Road to 2021

With 30 new models expected within the next five years, there’s a lot to look forward to from Hyundai

Hyundai’s Road to 2021 plan is a bold and ambitious strategy that will not only see the manufacturer launch 30 new models or derivatives by 2021, but also aim to become the biggest Asian automotive brand in Europe. It’s an exciting time for the Korean brand, and the result is that you can look forward to some of the most exciting, adventurous, high-quality and striking-looking cars on the road.

Hyundai’s future plans revolve around four core product areas: DNA models, future mobility, the SUV range and performance & emotion. This is what you can expect from each of them.

Hyundai Motor’s DNA cars represent the core of the Hyundai line-up, known as the i-range. With more than 55 per cent of sales being achieved by the current i10, i20 and i40, along with the New Generation i30 and i30 Fastback that’s just been released, you can be sure of their continued development and improvement in the years to come.

Hyundai offers the broadest range of powertrains with its current product line-up, with models such as the Ioniq, and it looks set only to get better. The company is launching 14 new eco models worldwide, including five hybrids, four plug-in hybrids, four pure-electric and one fuel-cell electric vehicle by 2020, and many of those will come to Europe.

Hyundai Motor’s strong SUV base began with the Santa Fe in 2001, and since then the Tucson has become Hyundai’s fastest-selling model in Europe. The all-new Kona looks set to enjoy the same success, and an electric-only version will come in 2018. Look forward to some exciting Hyundai SUVs in the future…

The stunning new i30 N, Hyundai’s first high-performance model, is just the start for the Hyundai N brand. N models deliver maximum driving enjoyment in everyday life, benefitting from years of experience in the World Rally Championship and development at the Nürburgring. Providing outstanding performance in cornering, racetrack driving and road driving, it’s a fast future indeed for Hyundai.
